Candidates

Ideal candidates for XEOMIN® should be at least 18 years old and in good health. Women who are pregnant or nursing are not suitable for this injectable treatment. XEOMIN® candidates usually wish to treat fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes (crow’s feet).

Procedure

XEOMIN® is an FDA-approved neuromodulator. When small amounts of this medication is injected into facial muscles, the muscles are temporarily relaxed, which keeps them from creating wrinkles and fine lines in the skin, preserving your youthful appearance. 

A consultation is necessary to determine your candidacy and also allows your medical provider to create a treatment plan that is specific for you. The XEOMIN® treatment is quick, taking as little as 15 minutes to complete in most cases. During the treatment, the XEOMIN® solution will be injected into the predetermined treatment areas of the face. Once your medical provider is finished with the injections, your treatment will be complete, and you can look forward to enjoying your stunning results.

Recovery

XEOMIN® does not require any special recovery time, and all normal activities may be resumed within several hours of treatment. Some patients may experience some residual swelling or soreness in the injection areas, which is common for any type of injection and should subside shortly after your treatment. 

Make sure that after your XEOMIN® treatment, you do not touch your face or rub the injection areas for four to six hours. The first reason is that those areas may still be sensitive and touching them often may result in bruising. Secondly, the XEOMIN® solution is still in a stage where it could migrate to undesired areas if agitated. By leaving it alone, you make sure that it is properly absorbed into the muscle. 

If you are experiencing any pain or swelling, you may take an anti-inflammatory painkiller such as TYLENOL®, though this is almost never necessary. All side effects will dissipate within a few days after your XEOMIN® treatment.

Results

For the most part, XEOMIN® treatments take about one to two weeks until effects are fully noticeable. That being said, you should notice initial effects within two to three days. You can look forward to a fresh, smooth appearance that lasts about three to four months. As with all anti-aging interventions, repeat treatments are necessary to maintain results.
